Twenty-eight men from the Epsom area lost their lives during World War I. In 1919 Auckland City Council decided to organise the construction of a memorial stone arch in Marivare Reserve. Part of the Marivare Reserve had been gifted to the Council by Ada Carr in 1919. The land had been part of a larger estate on which stood her home, Marivare.
Auckland Council Archives has an index database, compiled from the names that are inscribed on the memorial plaques on the archway in the Marivare Reserve in Epsom. It is name searchable.
